Profile of Claire Sanderson Hanna

Ms. Hanna has been a board recognized family law specialist since 2002. She is a sole practitioner offering clients personalized mediation and legal services in a warm, friendly environment. Ms. Hanna delivers hands-on, professional services to her clients in a timely and responsive fashion. Her background as a licensed real estate broker provides a unique perspective to divorces involving real estate.

Background

After graduating from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1992, Ms. Hanna served as a judicial law clerk at the New Mexico Court of Appeals for two years. This position involved extensive legal research, legal writing and the making of legal recommendations to the judiciary. It provided an excellent supplement to the legal education provided in law school, gave Ms. Hanna insight into how to effectively communicate with the court, and gave her first-hand exposure to the advantages and disadvantages of the litigation model.

Upon completion of the judicial clerkship, Ms. Hanna spent five years with a large Albuquerque domestic relations firm. Her exposure to high profile cases and complex litigation throughout the state honed her skills and provided a broad range of experiences. Given her independent nature, Ms. Hanna founded her own firm, CLAIRE SANDERSON HANNA LAW FIRM, P.C., in 1999 and began to focus her family law practice on collaborative law and mediation.

Having personally experienced a divorce, Ms. Hanna understands the emotional and financial stresses of a difficult family law matter. She assists clients as they go through this difficult time, while encouraging them to plan and prepare for a positive future.
